COLLECTOR’S GUIDE
Art is more than an object; it is a quiet relationship that unfolds between the artwork, the home, and the person. This guide is an invitation to navigate that space with intuition and intention.

Why We Live With Art
Art does more than fill a wall. It shapes the atmosphere of a room, holds memory, and invites reflection in ways that deepen over time.
At House of Meridian, we believe the right piece brings more than composition or balance. It brings presence—quietly altering the feeling of a home and creating a lasting relationship between the space and the life unfolding inside it.

How to Choose a Piece

Intuitive Mood
Listen to your immediate emotional response. Choose a work that resonates with the atmosphere you wish to cultivate—whether it be profound quietude or vibrant energy.

The Palette
Consider the dialogue between the artwork and your walls. Seek colors that either anchor a space through harmony or provide a deliberate, thoughtful focal point.

Scale & Energy
The size of a piece dictates its presence. Large works command attention and define rooms, while intimate pieces invite a closer, more private conversation.
SIZE AND PLACEMENT

The dialogue between a work of art and its environment is dictated by scale and light. A piece should neither crowd a room nor disappear within it. It requires room to breathe, a perspective from which it can be truly seen, and an awareness of the architecture it joins.
Light & Balance
- Visual Weight: Position larger works at eye level, roughly 57-60 inches from the floor to their center.
- Light Sensitivity: Avoid direct sunlight to preserve the depth of pigment; soft, indirect light reveals the texture best.
- Furniture Relationship: When hanging above a console or sofa, the work should span approximately two-thirds to three-quarters of the furniture's width.
- Room Energy: Allow for negative space; the wall around the work is just as important as the work itself.
Materials & Presentation
Each piece is archival-grade, using museum-quality papers and pigments designed to preserve depth and clarity for generations. The tactile presence of the work is central to the experience—surfaces that hold light and shadow with quiet restraint, offering a soft, matte finish that eliminates distraction and invites focus.
Framing & Display
Display should be an extension of the work's internal logic. We recommend minimal, structured frames that provide a clean boundary without overpowering the composition. Natural wood profiles or thin metal edges align best with the house's aesthetic, allowing the piece to breathe and integrate seamlessly into the architecture of your home.
Production
Each work is made-to-order, ensuring a focused and archival creation process. Please allow two to three weeks for preparation and alignment before transit.
Arrival
The packaging is designed with quiet restraint, intended to protect the integrity of the piece. Arrival is the beginning of the work's long life in your home.
On Interpretation
At House of Meridian, meaning is not fixed. Interpretation is an invitation—a conversation between the forms and your unique lived experience.
